What to expect when you book a family photo shoot
Shooting a family session with me is all about fun, spontaneity, and connection, where you can all be yourselves. We want natural smiles and genuine laughter! I know that being in the spotlight is not everyone’s favourite thing, so each session is tailored to your needs, ensuring a great experience start to finish.
My style as a photographer can be described as authentic and classic. While I encourage natural and candid moments, I also rely on intentional posing to create family photos that make you look your best! This combination results in photographs that tell a story and have genuine emotion, but also have an aesthetic flow that looks great on the mantle or in any photo album.

Yes! One of the benefits of having a commercial studio is that I have plenty of room for large family photo sessions. I routinely photography large extended family portraits and family groups.

Outdoor family photos can be an adventure where your family gets to explore and play together outside so they're great for kids with lots of energy! Outdoor family photo shoots with me have a relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy each other's company, allowing me to capture candid moments; whether it's running through tall grasses or sharing a laugh under the trees, the session feels more like a family outing than a photoshoot, making it a fun, memorable, and comfortable experience for everyone.
In-studio family photos offer a opportunity for creativity and playfulness in a more controlled environment. I have props and a variety of backdrops at hand and if there are bored littles they can bring some toys and play in the foyer while we capture individual family photos. For those who are more easily overwhelmed, the studio provides a quite and private space. In-studio sessions can be formal family portraits but also a more casual, playful time. One of the benefits of the studio is that we aren't as dependant on the weather!

Like any photographer I have my tried-and-true locations. Some of my favourite options are a beach photo shoot on our local Crescent Beach in Blackie Spit or on White Rock Beach, a fall family session in the autumn leaves at Stewart Farm, or catching the cherry blossoms in Minoru Park in Richmond. You'll also often find my clients running around in a field full of lupins (one of my favourite secret Ocean Park spots .. shh) I also often travel out or in or around the Lower Mainland - areas like Pitt Lake, Whytecliff Park, Fort Langley, and Garry Pointe.
Regardless of where we have your session I'll make sure you leave your photo shoot with images that you love!
