One of the best parts of doing what we do? Getting to photograph families as they grow. There’s something wild about realizing the little kid you once photographed as a newborn or in a dinosaur hoodie is now standing in front of your camera for graduation photos in a grad dress or suit, taller than you are!

We’ve had quite a few of those full-circle moments: clients we’ve known since they were small, now booking graduation photo sessions. Some of them still carry themselves the same way as they did at age 5 or 10. Some have completely changed. But every single one reminds us why these grad photography sessions matter so much.

Clients have come to us for a maternity session or family photos and stuck with us through the years—school photo day photos, birthday shoots, holiday minis—and now, they’re back for grad photos. It’s wild and wonderful, and honestly, kind of emotional for us too! Adrienne remembers what made them laugh back then. Or having to cajole a reluctant smile after a new set of braces. Now they’re heading off to university, or starting jobs, or taking a gap year to figure things out!

We feel lucky to be trusted with this part of the story. Graduation photos aren’t just a celebration of the milestone. For us, they’re also a reminder of the years we’ve shared with each family, and a big exhalation of pride.

This is a chance to document a turning point. Not just for them, but for the families who’ve watched them grow. And we’re so grateful to be the ones with the camera.
